Poly Glide began refinishing shuffleboards in
1975. During this time, we discovered that shuffleboards are like snowflakesthere
are no two that are alike. Our first hand knowledge of finishing courts has provided an
excellent tool in the development of our products.
Thermoplastic acrylics are made to be buffed. The
development of 1500-rpm buffers and 3000-rpm buffers has revolutionized the way
shuffleboards can be maintained. High speed buffing tightens the finished coat thus making
it more durable and easier to maintain.
As with most jobs, it is proper preparation that
provides peak performance.
With shuffleboards, it is the proper stripping of
the court of all old sealer and wax (and often paint) that provides the best bond
with newly applied product. It is at this point where our service can be cost prohibitive
or cost effective. This is the most labor-intensive portion of any job; and thus, the most
costly portion of any job. Depending on what was originally applied to the court,
determines the steps taken to remove what is on the court. Urethanes and two-part
urethanes are extremely difficult to remove. We have the equipment, the products
and expertise to remove the toughest of films.
